March - October
Most Sundays in spring and summer, we do a 50-mile round-trip no-drop River Road ride. Our turnaround is usually the Ranger Station (Alpine, NJ), though we sometimes mix it up and go to the 9W Market or Piermont.
We have a terrific crew of ride leaders.
We also organize one-off destination (the Rockaways, Bear Mountain) and themed (pizza, doughnuts) rides.
New in 2017, we plan to do Prospect Park laps ("orbits"), followed by coffee, one day a week. If you're new to riding in groups, this is a great way to meet us!
See below for ways to find out about our rides.
November - February
When do we stop riding? We don't! In New York, there's really no such thing as winter. There are cold days or even weeks, mixed in with beautiful riding weather.
We'll continue to meet up for Prospect Park orbits Sundays at 8 AM at the Grand Army entrance to Prospect Park. There won't be a designated leader, as we like to give our wonderful ride leaders a bit of a break.
We're just offering a regular meet-up place & time to encourage you to get out there & ride & make new bike friends!
Of course, you'll need to suit up a bit more, when the temperatures drop. Don't know what to wear? Visit us, we'll help you build up a cycling wardrobe.
Things to Know
Make sure your bike is tuned, and your tires inflated, ahead of the ride.
Required: helmet, water (with Nuun/Skratch/similar), flat fix kit (spare tube, tire levers, CO2 inflator or pump), and cash.
No aero bars, no earbuds, no bad attitudes.
Throughout the year, we host flat fix workshops, trunk shows, and other events.
Check out our 2017 women's rides and workshops, presented by Redbeard Bikes and Liv Cycling.
